Ligamentous Sprains or Muscular/Tendon Strains

Sprains and strains are common causes of back pain and neck pain. They can occur while playing a sport, improper lifting, jerking or twisting motion. Sprains and strains can also be caused by stress and subluxation in the spine. These injuries may cause swelling and bruising. The good thing is we are able to help with sprain strain injuries causing neck and back pain.

Chiropractic care can help with injury prevention. The muscles are controlled by the nervous system, specifically the somatic nervous system. In order for you to move your muscles, your brain must be able to communicate with your muscles. Chiropractic care optimizes the communication from the brain to the body and the body back to the brain.

Whiplash/Personal Injury

Have you been involved in a motor vehicle accident? Research has shown that whiplash can cause extreme stress on the spinal column; even if the car is only going 5mp. Sometimes you may not feel the pain right away however it is recommended you still get evaluated to determine the extent of the damage. Don’t wait for the pain to hit, contact us today for your initial evaluation.

We help our practice members get back to pre-crash health with our state-of-the-art technology. Dealing with whiplash symptoms can range from neck pain, headaches, back pain and so much more. It is common that we treat people a couple of weeks after their accidents because the pain did not develop right away. Research shows that chiropractic care is safe and effective for the treatment of whiplash and other auto injuries, even more so than the conventional methods of a neck collar stabilizer. Dr. Erin is trained to assess and treat your whiplash effectively. It is imperative to begin treatment as soon as possible despite the seemingly harmless nature of it compared to the damage to your car. The severity of whiplash can be correlated with the positioning of your car’s headrest. The lower position tends to results in harsher symptoms since it can act as a catapult in the event of a crash.

No matter if the injury occurred during a car crash, at work or while playing a sport, chiropractic care focuses on the root cause. Our Charlotte office uses state-of-the-art techniques to restore the proper joint motion and natural alignment of the spine. Our specific, gentle technique with no twisting, popping or cracking allows your body to relax and heal.

Disc Injury

The discs are the spaces between two spinal vertebrae. In our office, we have a saying, we want them to be thick like marshmallows and not thin like pancakes. They are the shock absorbers of our spine and help allow your flexibility and movement. Are you been diagnosed with a disc injury or a slipped disc? The severity of the injury can determine how we can help. The best way to explain a disc bugle or herniation is to think of a jelly donut between two spinal vertebrae. There is a herniation or a slipped disc then the “jelly” came out of the side of the donut. This usually results in inflammation of the surrounding nerves and pain.

Work Injury

The majority of work injuries are the result of overuse. It comes down to repeated stress. Constant sitting at your desk, hunched over looking at your computer, the constant typing will eventually snowball into a severe, long-term back and neck pain or even carpal tunnel.

We are seeing this even in children and teens, from studying, using the computer and their tablets. Individuals who do manual labor can get tired and start to use poor form and eventually throws their back out. It is constant little habits that eventually wear our bodies down.
